📌 Opportunity Title: Women in GovTech Challenge 2026 (WiGTC 2026)
🏛️ Organization: GovStack — in partnership with leading global institutions including World Bank, the UN Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies (UN ODET), UNDP, academic partner University College London (UCL), and the Open Source Ecosystem Enabler (OSEE) initiative.
🔎 What is this Challenge?
The Women in GovTech Challenge 2026 is a global initiative designed to empower women to shape the future of digital government. Through hands-on training, mentorship, and collaboration, participants will design, prototype — and potentially implement — citizen-centric digital public services. This cohort moves beyond theory: it offers a real pathway from idea to working prototype, helping to bridge the gap between digital governance policy and practical delivery.

- Technical expertise & real-world skills: Learn the GovStack “building-block” approach to digital service design; apply the DPI Safeguards framework to ensure inclusive & safe services; prototype scalable, interoperable solutions.

- Networking & career opportunities: Join a global community of women in digital governance from 50+ countries; connect with experts, mentors, and peers; gain visibility in the GovTech ecosystem.
- Impactful output: Collaborate in teams to build functional digital government prototypes; showcase at “Demo Day”; potential pathways to real-world implementation and pilot projects.
🧑‍💻 Who Can Apply (Eligibility)
This opportunity is open to women from around the world — working (or interested) in: government, private sector, academia, or civil society. Roles may include (but are not limited to):
- Project Coordinators
- Service Designers
- Policy / Legal Advisors
- User Research / UX Researchers
- Solution Architects / Developers (technical or non-technical backgrounds accepted)
Other requirements:
- Fluency in English (programme is conducted in English)
- Commitment to the programme schedule: weekly lectures, group work, networking sessions.
- No specific academic background or prior coding experience required — GovStack welcomes multidisciplinary talents.
📝 Application Process & Deadline
- Application window: 3 November 2025 – 7 December 2025
- How to apply: Complete the official application form via GovStack’s website.
- Notification of Selection: Applicants will be notified by 14 January 2026.
- Programme duration: February – March 2026 (training, team work, prototype development) → Demo Day end March → Graduation early April 2026.

- Demonstrate collaborative spirit & flexibility, especially open to working with people from different backgrounds.
- Highlight relevant experiences: project coordination, policy work, UX/design, research — even if from non-tech fields — GovStack values diverse expertise.
- Show commitment: confirm you have capacity for weekly lectures, teamwork and milestones.
- Be fluent and clear in English — communications and documentation are in English.
